Creative Chic Christmas Gift Guide

Christmas is knocking on the door and while I am still wondering where 2016 actually went,
I'm always ready for this end of the year. For me, the sweet scent of mangoes trigger those instant 'it's Christmas feelings' ~ cool refreshing fruits that take the edge off the summer heat. It's also the end of the school year, some businesses even close for a few weeks and everyone just generally relaxes for that period from December 25 to New Year. It really is that holiday time of year!

Prior to this however it can be a little insane, so many things to do, see, plan, bake and shop for.
For me, ever since I began my little handmade business, it was always a busy time holding market stalls and dashing to the post office. The thrill of Christmas craft fairs and the crossing of fingers, as I posted parcels, that the last-minute larry's would have their gifts in time for the big day.

Handmade has always played a big part in my family's Christmas - whether it's making the food or making presents and cards. I remember when I was about five, stamping our own wrapping paper for all our family members. And then there was the annual Christmas dresses my Grandmother would whip up for myself and my sisters, complete with scary (self chosen!) dangly novelty earrings...little bells that jingled each time I moved. Over time, handmade has become such a lovely choice for Christmas, whether you spend months making beautiful things or you choose to support a small artisan, so that they can put Christmas lunch on the table, and gifts under their family tree.

With this in mind, I thought I would share a few of my personal picks that would make amazing Christmas gifts - some are beautifully handmade pieces, some are for the creatively inspired.

1. Pikelet
A darling felt rabbit, handmade by May Blossom Store. This adorable bunny would give Peter Rabbit a good run for his money, isn't she delightful!? Designer Simone also has a shop full of absolutely gorgeous patterns just incase you are feeling a little crafty!

2. Ceramic Hedgehog Yarn Bowl
If you have been needing an excuse to take up knitting or crochet, I think this might do the trick! How adorable is this little hedgehog, to keep your yarn from rolling around while you work?

3. Cherry Blossom Owl Soap
I love Seventh Tree Soaps, they make the most gorgeous soaps and balms! This owl, packaged in her very own handmade box is a perfect little stocking stuffer, Secret Santa gifts or work colleagues.

4. Love Knot Earrings
Clay and Clasp make the cutest accessories and earrings, from unicorns to donuts with sprinkles! These sweet, on trend earrings would make a stylish addition to any girl's wardrobe.

5. Deer Christmas Card
Mulberry Muse is one of my absolute favourites! Australian artist Wendy Paula Patterson designs the most exquisite greeting cards, tags and prints ~ if you want to give Christmas cards that the recipients will frame, I highly recommend Wendy's beautiful work. The attention to detail is second to none and the stunning packaging is the icing on the cake.

6. Fluffy ipad Case
Perhaps the cutest ever case for your technology, this bunny inspired iPad case is just the thing for the screen addict in your family!

7. Chibi Angel Pattern
Give something you've handmade this Christmas, with this beautiful little angel doll pattern by Gingermelon. The little girls in your life will just adore these heavenly creations ~ and while you're at it, why not turn some into tree decorations!

8. Need a Gentle Reminder?
Be silly, be charming, be kind! How perfect are these gorgeous gold engraved pencils for those hard to buy for teens? These will go down a treat and would be lovely as a little something special for back to school!

9. Woodland Lace Lingerie
Receiving underwear for Christmas might not be on everyone's wish list, but Ohhh Lulu might just change your mind with a store full of adorable and very feminine smalls ~ her exquisite designs are all vintage glamour and reminiscent of a time when even one's underwear was stylish!
